The Architecture of the False Self
The flagship. Read the blueprints of the self you defend, map its defenses, interrogate it until it breaks or proves out — then rebuild.
What this contract does
The self you protect is a predictive model your brain assembled from social feedback, then mistook for the real thing. This 4-module, 16-lesson seminar treats it as an engineering object: construction (Metzinger, Dennett, predictive processing), defense systems (Festinger, Goffman, sociometer theory), Socratic demolition (the elenchus, laddering, ACT defusion, Epictetus), and reconstruction (values as operating system, exposure protocols, a permanent maintenance cadence). Every lesson ends in a written artifact. The capstone is a formal teardown of one load-bearing identity belief.
- ▸16 written lessons, 1,300–1,600 words each: lecture, Socratic question set, field drill, sources
- ▸4 instruments: Trigger Log, After-Action Review, Dichotomy Ledger, Identity Belief Registry
- ▸Self-paced. Recommended cadence: one lesson every 2–3 days (5–6 weeks total)
- ▸One-time payment. Lifetime access to the material and every future revision
- 01A completed Identity Belief Registry with load-bearing beliefs flagged
- 02A costed audit of your ego's weekly defense budget, in hours and outcomes
- 03One identity belief formally decommissioned via the written capstone audit
- 04Five falsifiable operating principles and a permanent maintenance cadence
The curriculum
- Module 014 lessons
The Blueprint
How the false self gets built: the brain's self-model, the confabulating narrator, the status-prediction engine, and the developmental supply chain that installed your parts.
- 1.1The Self as Model
- 1.2The Narrator
- 1.3The Prediction Engine
- 1.4The Borrowed Self
- Module 024 lessons
The Fortress
The defense architecture: dissonance mechanics, the internal press office, status accounting — and the full annual invoice you pay to keep the model protected.
- 2.1Dissonance Mechanics
- 2.2The Press Office
- 2.3Threat Detection and Status Accounting
- 2.4The Maintenance Cost
- Module 034 lessons
The Interrogation
Socratic demolition: the elenchus as a daily instrument, laddering surface traits down to load-bearing beliefs, defusion drills, and the Epictetus dichotomy audit.
- 3.1The Elenchus
- 3.2Load-Bearing Beliefs
- 3.3Defusion Drills
- 3.4The Dichotomy Audit
- Module 044 lessons
The Reconstruction
Operating without the false self: falsifiable operating principles, action without audience, graduated live-fire exposure, and the relapse-detection maintenance protocol.
- 4.1Values as Operating System
- 4.2Action Without Audience
- 4.3Stress-Testing the New Build
- 4.4The Maintenance Protocol and Capstone
